Children's Health Guide
info
Children's health guide is an illustrated pseudo-scientific index of childhood ailments and the methods to treat them. My work on this project began by collecting educational Jewish-Ashkenazi myths and folktales, which teach children etiquette and hygiene. Inspired by their grotesque humoristic style I created the fifteen illnesses described in this book. Its illustrations and general design draws inspiration from medieval medicine guides, Eastern and Western medical illustrations, and nineteenth century German children's books. The book was written and illustrated under the Pseudonym Dr. Rolf Kishintuches as my final project in the Visual communication programme at the Bezalel academy of art and design, Jerusalem, 2010.Self-published (supported by Artport) 2016, 2017
